Brava, Brava, Brava!

As I sat out in the audience watching you every night, one word came to mind...."Brilliance". You took command of that show and delivered an unforgettable performance every night. I know I couldn't express myself the way I wanted to at Sunday's circle, but I am in awe of each and every one of you! Joanne and I couldn't have been more blessed with such a cast! No matter where we all go from here, no matter what shows we are involved in, I will never forget the cast of Aladdin Jr 2010 You are, and always will be, a very special group of kid's. Thank you for the honor of being your Director. I'll never forget it!

Awesome Opening Night!

What an awesome job everyone! The cast, the sets, the costumes!! Just a beautiful show!! I heard nothing but great reviews after your performance. A gigantic THANK YOU to everyone involved with the production of this show. A great big thank you to all the parents too! With another 8pm show again tonight, call is at 6pm. Let's knock their socks off again tonight.

Call for Friday's Matinees

Great show everyone! Friday's schedule is as follows. Call for tomorrow is 7am. After the 9 o'clock show, we will have pizza for everyone downstairs. You all will not have time to leave and come back, so we'll eat there. We are taking a cast photo right after the early show. Well, right after you come back in from the lobby. Our last student matinee is at 12 noon. You do not have to be back until 6pm, which is call for the 8pm show. I can hardly wait to see everyone back on stage tomorrow. We are all so very proud of you guy's. Now this is theatre!!!!

Onward and Upward

Well, here we go! We have left the rehearal phase of our giant adventure that is "Aladdin Jr", and we are moving on to show prep or "tech week". I am so excited for you all! This is always my favorite time, outside of the performances, of course. As I explained, there will be a lot of technical things going on tomorrow night (lights, stage blocking ect.), so your continued patience will be appreciated. A photographer will also be there to take some shots for the "Spin" article that will appear in Friday's Times Herald. Costumes will be assigned tomorrow night as well. A busy, busy night ahead of us! When you get there, please find a seat in the theatre. We will be going over the rules of the theatre, as well as other things you will need to know. Have a restful night and don't forget to take your vitamins (haha). I would like to thank everyone that has helped with this show. Without you, this show could not have happened. THANK YOU!!!!

Last Week of Rehearsals

Well, we are at the start of our last week of rehearsals before we move into McMorran. We have come a long way since our very first practice way back on Jan 4th. Joanne and I are just about ready to turn the show over to you. Katie has taught you all the music, Joanne has taught you all the dance and we have prepared you to "be" your characters. Once you start your first performance, it is your show!! Take ownership and be proud of what you have accomplished in the 11 weeks that we have had to get this show ready. We have definitely learned a lot from this experience and have enjoyed each and every minute of it. As we said at the beginning of rehearsals, "we will work hard, but also have fun". Hopefully that was true for all of you. I know it was for Joanne, Katie and myself. This last week I am going to ask for your continued patience and focus. We have some fine tuning to do and also finish up costume fittings as well. One last thing, I would ask you to take some time this week and thank all of the people responsible for the production and organization of this show (including your parents). Without them, none of this would have been possible. Have fun and remember "Be awesome, somebody may be watching!"

Thank you all for a great rehearsal! We are now on our way. We have two weeks left before Tech week. We need to use every minute of rehearsal wisely at this point. Just keep up the good work. You are all doing a great job!

Call For Sunday February 28th

EVERYONE! We have seven rehearsals left before we move into McMorran and start our tech week. We need everyone to be working on your parts at home, in between scheduled rehearsals. We had a very good rehearsal tonight. Let's keep it going!!

Rehearsal Cancelled

Rehearsal scheduled for Monday February 22nd has been cancelled due to weather and road conditions. We will see everyone on Thursday at 6pm. Great job yesterday! Let's keep it going.

Call for Sunday Feb 7th, Mon Feb 8th and Thurs Feb 11th

Sunday we are reviewing music and choreography. All cast. Monday we are going to run scenes 1-3. That includes music, choreography and lines. Everyone needs to be there. Thursday we are running scenes 4 and 5. Again, that includes all music, choreography and lines. This will include the entire cast again. We will not have rehearsals Sunday Feb 14th and Monday Feb 15th due to the schools scheduled Mid-Winter break. Thursday Feb 18th however, we are running scenes 6 and 7. You will all need to be there. I will be posting the last schedule for the remaining rehearsals on Sunday. From there on out the entire cast will need to be at all rehearsals unless excused by Joanne or myself.

Sunday : Review music and choreography, full cast. Monday : Finish choreography for "Friend Like Me". Drew, Moulan, McKale, Carmen, Emily, Hope, Julie, Shaelyn, Madison, Sylvia and Amos need to be there. Thursday : Choreography for "One Jump Ahead". Drew, Ally, Sylvia, Chase, Zack, Chistopher, Anthony, Emily, McKale, Carmen, Hope, Julie, Shaelyn, Madison, Chelsea, Quinton, Alex, Brittany, Noehl, Delaney, Sarah and Lydia all need to be there.

Call for Monday Jan. 25th and Thursday Jan. 28th

Monday we will be learning choreography for "A Whole New World". Drew, Ally, Sydney and Shelby Kavanaugh, Allison Urban, Sydney Collins, Camille Keyes, Michaela and Shawn Muzzerelli, Tyler Nevison, Tenaya Duren, Hannah Stephens and Miranda Hency need to be there. Thursday we will be finishing choreography for "Prince Ali" entire cast required.

We will be reviewing all music and choreography thus far, so everyone needs to be there. Joanne and I will have an updated schedule for you as well on Sunday. We are almost at the end of our first month of rehearsal, and everyone is doing a great job! Keep up the good work! See you Sunday.

Call for Monday Jan. 18th and Thursday Jan. 21st

Monday the 18th- Choreography for "Friend Like Me" Aladdin, Genie, Harem Girls, Dancers, Carpet and Abu need to be there. I will be working on dialogue with Jafar and Iago until 7:15 or so. Thursday the 21st- Choreography for "Prince Ali". Full cast for that one.

Call for Sunday Jan. 17th

Review music and learn choreography. 2:00 narrators & dancers. 2:30 full cast. We will all be there until 5:00. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Something you can move in.

Call for Monday Jan. 11th and Thursday Jan. 14th

For Monday the 11th we will be learning music for "One Jump Ahead". This will include Aladdin, Shopkeepers, Townspeople, Harem Girls, Dancers, Matron and Guards. The Shopkeepers and Townspeople will be named at this Sunday's rehearsal. We also need Narrators, Iago, Jafar, Sultan, Jasmine and Razoul as well to work on dialogue for scenes 1 & 2. For Thursday the 14th, we will be learning music for "Friend Like Me". Genie, Harem Girls and Dancers will need to be there. We also will be working on dialogue for scenes 5 & 6. Aladdin and Jasmine to 8:30. Sultan, Jafar, Iago and Razoul to 7:30.

Call for Sunday Jan. 10th

Review music for "Prince Ali" and learn "Arabian Nights". The entire cast is schedule for this day. We will be passing out rehearsal cd's to everyone and catching up on any forms that need to be completed. Also, the scripts that were ordered have arrived, so we will be passing those out as well. See you then!

Important update for Thursday Jan. 7th

The Harem Girls and the Dancers are not scheduled for tonight. Only the Narrators and the characters in scene 4 listed are scheduled. An updated schedule for next Monday and Thursday will be posted very soon. Thank you, and sorry about the confusion.
