Character List

Aladdin is the title character and therefore carries most of the show. Strong acting and vocals skills. Needs versatility to play funny, slick prankster as well as the romantic lead.

Genie is the fast talking, scene-stealing funny man. Strong comedic skills. Singing required. Could cast a male or female.

Princess Jasmine should be feisty and rebellious, yet genuinely sweet and somewhat naïve. Strong acting and vocal skills.

Iago is another great comedic role. Like the Genie, he or she must have strong comedic skills.

Jafar is the villain. Strong actor. Singing required.

The Sultan should be able to play a father figure convincingly. Although a bit scattered, he needs to be able to sing and act well.

The Narrators (5) can be any combination of boys and girls. All should be able to sing well and speak clearly since they are responsible for setting scenes and advancing the plot.

The Guards, including Razoul need to have good comedic skills and are required to sing.

The Magic Carpet should be energetic and possess good pantomime skills. Acrobatic and dance experience an asset. Could cast a male or female for this role.

Abu should also be energetic and have good pantomime skills. Could cast a male or female.

The Three Princes should have strong comedic skills.

The Ensemble consists of Townspeople, Shop Owners, a Baker, Harem Girls etc. They should be good actors who sing well, as they are featured in all of the production numbers which will include dancing as well.

Audition Information

Auditions for Port Huron Civic Theatre's production of Disney's Aladdin Jr will be Monday, December 14th and Tuesday, December 15th from 6:00 to approximately 9:00 p.m. The auditions will be held at Horizon Outlet Center, located at 1661 Range Rd in Smiths Creek. Suite B 160, located at the end of the mall.

Those auditioning will be asked to sing one or two selections from the show, read one or more short scenes and do some simple dance movement. Auditioners will need to be between the ages of 5 and 17.
